Spring is in the air, and there’s so much more to do in April other than taxes and spring cleaning. Insider has put together a list of ideas for fun activities to try in the springtime, so pick a few favorites and make your plans!

Outdoor Fun

When the weather’s right, it’s hard to beat a breezy stroll along the coast, or a bike ride along a picturesque trail. If you’re feeling adventurous, you might even lace up your boots for a hike. The water might not be warm enough to let you go for a swim just yet, but you can still enjoy some time at the beach this spring. We have so much beautiful coastline here in Pensacola, and this scenic setting would be perfect for a picnic. Bring a basket and a blanket to keep sand out of your snacks, then relax and watch the waves as you share a meal with a view of the Gulf.

Taste Something New

Now that spring is here, farmers will have plenty of fresh produce, and you can pick some up at a farmers market. There should be plenty of ripe and ready treats available, from fresh berries to plump apples, hot chiles, and more. Using regional ingredients is a great way to upgrade your cooking each season, and you’ll support your local farmers in the process. You could also take the opportunity to head to a food festival like the Pensacola Habitat Food Truck Fest later this month, or the Heart of Pensacola Dinner in the Garden in May.

Take a Trip

While there’s plenty to see and do in Pensacola, it might be time for a change of scenery. Load up for a road trip to a favorite vacation spot, as there are some great destinations just down the road along the coast.
