When the Toyota brand announced the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, they put truck shoppers on notice. “Get ready to redefine your epic,” they said. And epic is exactly how the Toyota Tacoma can be described. The all-new mid-size truck has a muscular body design that matches an equally brawny line-up of powerhouse engines. The modernized interior has two cab options packed with tech features and comfort amenities.
The all-new Tacoma is available in ten trim levels, and each one offers a different combination of features providing a unique driving experience. For instance, the new Trailhunter trim and the off-road maverick, the TRD-pro, both come with a potent hybrid engine and a new coil spring suspension system that makes tackling rough terrain a breeze.

The 2024 Tacoma has two cab options – the XtraCab and the Double Cab. The XtraCab seats two people in a single row and can be paired with a longer truck bed for increased utility. The Double Cab has two rows and can seat up to four people with plenty of room in plush, supportive seating. The interior is lined with premium cloth upholstery on the base model, and vinyl, leatherette, suede, and genuine leather upholstery are available. In addition, the off-road-focused TRD model features Isodynamic Performance seats with built-in shock absorbers to help reduce body movement and fatigue when driving on rough terrain. Other interior comfort features in the Toyota Tacoma include available heated and ventilated seats, power-adjustable front seats, memory settings for the driver’s seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Cargo space depends on which cab and bed option is selected. Drivers can choose between a four-door Double Cab available with a 5- or 6-foot bed and a new two-door XtraCab that has a standard 6-foot bed. The XtraCab, available on SR, SR5, and TRD PreRunner grades, prioritizes utility and maximizes cabin space with clever storage solutions. The XtraCab boasts lockable storage on the rear floor, perfect for storing tools or small packs. Additional lockable storage on the back panel allows for secure storage of longer items. Quick access to the rear storage is facilitated by a long-slide driver’s seat with slide memory. Additionally, the passenger seat can fold flat, serving as a practical workspace, and even includes a water bottle holder.
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma has two engine options:
Toyota packs out the all-new Tacoma with a range of cutting-edge technology. The driver-focused cockpit has an easy-to-reach 8-inch or optional 14-inch multimedia touchscreen display featuring Toyota’s latest Audio Multimedia system. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, enabling seamless smartphone integration. The Tacoma also offers an available Qi wireless charging pad with improved power output for effortless device charging. Standard models are equipped with USB-C data and charging ports, conveniently placed throughout the front and rear rows.
Moving up the trim level, shoppers will find models equipped with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, offering four different display styles, while the base model features a standard 7-inch gauge cluster. Another notable feature is the inclusion of a Smart Key System with push-button start across all trim levels. Shoppers who subscribe to the active Remote Connect trial will be about to use the available Digital Key to connect with compatible smartphones. The Digital Key provides convenient vehicle entry, tailgate access, and remote starting capabilities. It also offers the ability to remotely share access with others, granting greater control over vehicle entry without the need for physical keys. For added versatility, a Smart Card key, designed as a compact credit card-sized smart key, allows drivers to carry their key conveniently wherever they go.
The 2024 model of the Tacoma features Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 on the base model, and the safety and driver assistance features only get better from there. The base suite includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and proactive driving assist.
